Sitellite 5.0 beta is now available.  This means that Sitellite 5 is officially feature-complete and now we're just ironing out the remaining bugs and preparing for a full roll-out including all-new documentation and an all-new Sitellite community website.

Please note that the version numbering for the Sitellite 5 betas is 4.3.x not 5.x since 5.0.0 will be the first stable release.  The previous stable release branch is 4.2.x.

Installing Sitellite 5

Click here to download now (look for sitellite-4.3.3-beta) or run the quick installer by copying and pasting the following command command line (first 'cd' into your website's document root):

wget -q -O - http://www.sitellite.org/go-sitellite5 | sh

What's new in Sitellite 5

• Multi-lingual website support, including a complete translator's interface and automatic workflow notices to translators when content is added or modified.  You can even convert an upgraded Sitellite website to be multi-lingual in minutes.
• Huge improvements to our WYSIWYG editor, including advanced table support, link selector, all-new source editor with search-and-replace, box chooser for embedding dynamic content into any page, MS Word importing, and more.
• Auto-save for recovering from a Windows or browser crash or network interruption.
• Safari web browser support.
  
• Improved security including form spam and abuse prevention, and new measures against session hijacking.
• Improved performance throughout the system through a new delayed-loading technique for certain components and compressed javascript libraries.
• Improved internal workflow messaging, making better use of the default workflow and of the message inbox features.
• Edit add-on settings from the Control Panel, no more text file configurations!
• New SiteSearch add-on based on the Zend Framework, no more JVM required.
• You can now remove the /index/ from URLs for complete SEO control.
  
• Over 150 other enhancements, bug fixes and usability improvements.
