Summary

The Sitellite Content Management System is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL), also available in the file docs/LICENSE that came with your copy of Sitellite.  Under the terms of the GPL, you are permitted to use and redistribute Sitellite for free, provided your usage meets the following requirements:

• You may not redistribute Sitellite under an alternate license.
• You must distribute Sitellite with the source code included, or make the source code available for download in a prominent location on your web site.
• Any custom code you distribute with Sitellite, or that includes parts of Sitellite, must be distributed under the GPL as well (or under a GPL-compatible license).

If this last point will not work well under your business model, you can contact Simian Systems, creators of Sitellite, for an alternate generic commercial license, which will allow you to distribute your proprietary Sitellite-based applications to your customers under closed-source conditions, for a small licensing fee.

Additionally, Simian Systems makes available a number of high quality commercial add-ons to Sitellite, which you can either purchase individually, or via a bundled offer with the commercial version of Sitellite.
